WEEK 7: WORKSHOP 3 (THESIS WRITING AND PROPOSAL WRITING)

Activity: 

1. Workshop 3 Thesis Writing and Proposal Writing Workshop

Objective: 

1. Results & discussion (Chapter 4) and conclusion (Chapter 5). 
2. Abstract in thesis writing or summary in proposal report.

Contents:

The third briefing was conducted via Microsoft Teams and the attendance of all FYP student is compulsory. The workshop was conducted by Sir Azmi Hashim. This workshop was to explain regarding the chapter 4, 5 and Abstract in Thesis Writing.

During the briefing, the FYP committee briefed us about the details of some chapters in the thesis and proposal writing. The workshop briefed us on the remaining chapters that should be in the thesis and proposal writings, the chapters are:

            Chapter 4: Result & Discussion

This chapter is a deeper analysis enriched by the knowledge gained during the process of designing the project. It is advisable to compare the results with other work and explain why.

            Chapter 5: Conclusion & Recommendation

In this chapter, students need to state whether they have achieved their project objectives or have found new findings. 

            Summary

A summary is a brief statement or restatement of main points, especially as a conclusion to a work: a summary of a chapter.

            Abstract

The abstract is the summary of the thesis, but it contains all the details that are in all the chapters in the thesis.

Result:

From this briefing, the students have been clearly explained about the thesis and proposal writing. He gave the student some ideas and tips to do the report more easily and smoothly.

Conclusion:

This workshop is important for all FYP students because it is the continuation of the previous chapters of their thesis and proposal writing. The students also managed to know some important details in each chapter that is required for them to write in their thesis and proposal.
