WEEK 5: WORKSHOP 2 (THESIS WRITING AND PROPOSAL WRITING)

Activity: 

1. Workshop 2 Thesis Writing and Proposal Writing

Objective: 

1. Thesis and proposal format. 
2. Thesis writing and proposal writing for chapter 1- chapter 3.

Contents:

For this week, the briefing was conducted via Microsoft Teams on 2\11\2022 and the attendance of all FYP student is compulsory. The briefing was conducted by Sir Shah Rizailli Mukhtar.

During the briefing, the FYP committee has briefed us about the details of some chapters in thesis and proposal writing. The workshop briefed us on the first 3 chapters that should be in the thesis and proposal writings, the chapters are:

            Chapter 1: Introduction

This chapter is to highlights the overview of the project explaining to the readers why the project title is relevant and worth studying.

            Chapter 2: Literature Review

A literature review is a text of a scholarly paper, which includes the current knowledge including applicable findings, as well as theoretical and methodological contributions to a particular topic.

            Chapter 3: Methodology

The methodology is the most important aspect of how the project system is carried out and the very basic structure should have as follows: 

• Describe the materials and equipment used in the project. 
• Explain how the samples were gathered, any randomization techniques, and how the samples were prepared. 
• Explain how the measurements were made and what calculations were performed upon the raw data. 
• Describe the statistical techniques used on the data.

Result:

All the important aspect has been clearly explained about the thesis and proposal format and he gave the student some ideas and tips to do the report more easily and smoothly.

Conclusion:

The discussion about the thesis format is helpful to the students. The question-and-answer session give us the opportunity to ask and helps us to understand thoroughly about the topic.
